KAIST (officially the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) is a national research university located in Daedeok Innopolis, Daejeon, South Korea. KAIST was established by the Korean government in 1971 as the first research-oriented public science and engineering institution.

KAIST is generally known as the most popular university in South Korea. KAIST is also internationally accredited in business education, and hosts the AAPBS Secretariat.

Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications:

To be eligible for KAIST funded scholarship to study in South Korea:

  • Students must maintain a GPA over 2.0 out of 4.3 at KAIST.
  • You must be an international student.
  • Not to be a Korean citizen. (Korean citizens who hold dual citizenship are not eligible to apply as international students.)
  • Proof of English language proficiency: TOEFL or IELTS:

TOEFL iBT 83 (PBT 560, CBT 220)
IELTS 6.5 band (Academic mode)
TOEIC 720(Listening & Reading)
TEPS 599/New TEPS 326

For the master’s program:

Applicants hold or expect to obtain a bachelor’s degree prior to enrollment at KAIST.

For the PhD program:

Applicants hold or expect to obtain a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree prior to enrolling at KAIST
