Kaņepes Laikmetīgās Kultūras centrs A performing arts venue, café and music/social venue, in English “Cannabis Culture Center”. It is housed in a building constructed by architect Rudolf Heinrich Zirkowitz in 1895, first inhabited by Baltic and Russian aristocrats, then taken over by Bohemian artists, students of the Academy of Arts and Riga Technical University (RTU) during the First Republic era, and finally home to thousands of children, students of the “School of Gaziba Medita for Music”.
After a bit of a renovation, the Cannabis Culture Center has opened its doors to the general public. It has a new concert hall, comfortable kitchen, outdoor summer terrace and meeting place. Its usual guests are local hipsters and creative Riga lessons from 17 to 32.
