The European Union’s Erasmus Mundus Program aims to promote quality in higher education through scholarships and academic cooperation between the European Union and the rest of the world. The three main objectives of the program are related to the internationalization of students and staff, curriculum and research; Ensure influencing the development of practice in the needs of special education and inclusive education, The development of networks, projects and international collaborative research.
Erasmus Mundus supports joint programs (joint master’s and doctoral courses) run by consortia of higher education institutions from the European Union and (since 2009) elsewhere in the world. It provides integrated courses and joint or multiple diplomas after study or research in two or more institutions of higher education.
Erasmus Mundus Program funds a number of scholarships for students and academics studying or studying on Erasmus Mundus Master’s courses. Since 2010, fellowships have also been available to doctoral candidates following one of the joint doctoral degrees.

The Models and Methods of Quantitative Economics (QEM) is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) that has been running since 2006. The newest edition called QEM2018 is offered by the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (France), the coordinating institution, Université catholique de Louvain (Belgium), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain), Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia (Italy), and Warsaw School of Economics (Poland).
The EMJMD QEM is also collaborating with 16 excellent associated partners. These Associated Partners introduce diversity to the Consortium, both through the countries representing different continents and the diverse types of organizations participating. Ten of these Associated Partners are academic institutions with a solid scientific and research background in economics and related multi-crossing disciplines. Six of the Associated Partners are companies from public and private sectors that support the Consortium.
The EMJMD QEM is a 24-month, 120 ECTS, full-time research orientation master’s program for practical applications of advanced methodologies and models in economics, with scientific courses taught in English, Culture and local language courses, and mobility between two or three Universities across Europe.
Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications:

- Academic excellence, motivation document, English language test score and previous experience (if any).
- The applicant selection process includes an assessment of each individual applicant’s talents, achievements, and potential for success in the program.
- The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree.

The scholarship covers monthly allowance for living costs of 1,000 euros per month for the entire duration of the study program (24 months maximum).
