The project provides both volunteers as well as children and youth from Kerava with an opportunity to internationalize and gain an educational experience from cultural interaction. Volunteers will participate in the various activities of the Youth Services and Kerava City Library. They will participate in activities for young people aged 9-25 in hostels and mobile unit by organizing eg multicultural education in an afternoon club and by participating in youth evenings.
The work can also be carried out in other activities provided by Youth Services, and Youth Services encourages volunteers to collaborate with other municipal authorities. All activities will be carried out with young workers in relation to the professional skills and interests of the volunteer. During the holidays (autumn, winter and summer holidays) various events will be organized in which volunteers will participate.

YOLO Funded Scholarship in Finland:
Volunteers will attend trainings upon arrival, and Finnish language courses will be held in Kerava. It is also possible for volunteers to participate in gatherings and other informal meetings of other volunteers working in Finland.
Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications:
To be eligible for YOLO Funded Scholarship in Finland:
- Volunteers over 20 years old.
- Initiative and capable to work with children and youth.
- Ability to process own views of the activities.
- Capability to plan and carry out/implement activities for children and young people aged mainly between 13-17 years is essential.
- Volunteers are capable of living together with a person coming possibly from a different cultural background.
- Adequate English skills and accredited sending organization are required.
- Proof of English language proficiency, TOEFL or IELTS.
Benefits of YOLO Funded Scholarship in Finland:
Volunteers will be accommodated in an apartment provided by the City of Kerava. Apartment is located close to the city centre. Both volunteers will stay in the same apartment, consisting two individual bedrooms, two shared bathrooms, shared kitchen and living room and small backyard.
Volunteers will be given bicycles which is useful way of getting around in Kerava. Meals are mainly provided at the Kerava High School. Volunteers are also provided travel cards for Helsinki Regional Transport to get around within the capital region.
