MCW Global is a non-profit organization with a vision for communities around the world to achieve higher levels of education, improve health, and increase economic security. It aims to meet the needs of societies by empowering current leaders and preparing the leaders of tomorrow. Founded in 1999, MCW Global is headquartered in New York with affiliated organizations in Africa (Rwanda, Tanzania and Zambia). She offers the Young Leaders Program and the Africa Program, which focuses on healthcare and community development.
Miracle Corners of the World (MCW) was created with contributions from Dr. Rice, Dr. Shells, and Dr. White and Paul. The nonprofit’s name was inspired by the work of Dr. Rice, who promoted the transformation of a drug haven street corner into a safe, drug-free social corner in the Mantua community of West Philadelphia. Dr. Rice had initially enlisted Rob and his team to help clean up an abandoned plot of land on 34th Street, which had become a small business development space. This transformation was called “the miracle on 34th Street” by the Philadelphia Inquirer in October 1999.
In October, MCW Global held its 16th Annual Gala on October 14, 2020. The MCW Leadership Award was presented to Eduardo Martinez, President of the UPS Foundation, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at UPS. The MCW Community Partnership Award was presented to BDO.
